Our Company
Best Septic was originally owned and operated by Neil E. Heath, who took his one small truck out to customer's houses,
told jokes while giving quality service, then deposited the sludge on pastures that local ranchers begged him to do for fertilization.
It didn't take long, though, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality came along and said, "You
can't do that." O-kay. So he adapted
and purchased some land for his state regulated Transfer Station. The sludge he pumped from a customer's system
was then kept in a holding tank until it could be transported to a state regulated final destination. [THIS IS
WHY ALL LICENSED COMPANIES CHARGE MORE THAN FLY-BY-NIGHTS--BECAUSE WE ARE DOING IT RIGHT! IF ANOTHER
COMPANY DOES IT CHEAPLY, THEY MAY BE DISPOSING OF THE SLUDGE ILLEGALLY, YOU MAY NOT GET QUALITY SERVICE, AND THE
HEALTH DEPARTMENT MIGHT FINE YOU!] Even since Neil's death, we still do it this way, except now there are
more TECQ rules and regulations for us to follow. Now Brad has a Class "B" Municipal Solid Waste Operator's
license, Kim has a Class "A" license and a Class "B" license [Texas Administrative Code changes required
the addition of the 2nd], and Chris also has a Class "B" license. This is so we can ensure the safety of the
environment, which really means public safety. World population is increasing exponentially, and we do care about keeping
our planet's environment as clean as possible.
Our Transfer Station was upgraded to meet state regulations. This
upgrade cost us a lot of money that delayed the purchase of our new truck, but the TECQ has mandated this.
